95 4.3 S10 transmission question
I was wondering if a a 700r4 out of a 95 4.3 s10 will bolt up in one of our cars with out problems and handle the same amount of hp. Also I here they have better torque converters in them, what size stall do they have. I am asking this because my friend is will to sell me one for cheap and my tranny has alot of miles on it. Thanks guys.

Wouldn’t work, they went to electronically controlled 700s in 94. You could make it work, but you would need a computer to control it. If the one your friend has is from a 4X4, he could ship it to me. I’m loosing 3rd in my Sonoma, AGAIN!!!!!

Theyre called 4L60-E transmissions. If you had a computer from a 95 S-10 and could get power to it somehow it would work. I had a 75 shot of nitrous on my 96 S-10 and it held beautifully. So that was at around 255 horsepower. It went a 14.0 @ 95 so it held the power. But yea you could do it with a computer. I dont know about the convertor in an older 700R4 though. I think they had different spline counts.
