Problem from a stop in OD

Earlier this week I ran into a problem when running in OD. I hit traffic on the parkway, and came to a complete stop. When I gave it gas to get going from a stop, it would stumble badly.

Thinking it was a freak accident, I tried again the next time I had to stop and the same thing happens.

Now I shift into D and this does not happen. Same thing with the shifter in 1st. Try a couple of times, no problem.

Again I try OD and it occurs again.

The 4L60 is original (50K), and has not been rebuilt.

TIA for any help.

Check the wiring for the torque converter clutch solenoid. When was the last time you changed the filter in the transmission?

First thing I had done on the car, either late July/early August (last owner was a woman who drove it for the cool factor so I know it wasn't done).

Thanks. I'll get to checking it out the wiring Tuesday when I'm off.

Wow, its been a while, but the weather has really sucked when I'm off and no garage to work in.

I didn't see anything wrong with the wiring from what I could see.

Can I disconnect the lead as a troublehsooting tactic? If I disconnect the solenoid, what should happen: will the problem stop, or will it depend on the last state of the solenoid?

You can disconnect the connecter to troubleshoot. The solenoid should return to its rest state. It may not do it imediatly but if your problem is with the tcc it should eventually go away with the connector disconectted.

Ok, tried it, but no change.

Its happening still, just not every time. I also noticed that one time I stopped and the car bucked, and after it was fine for a few stops.

Also, now when I shift into OD form park, with my foot on the brake, the car will buck a couple of times, with kind of a loud ticking from underneath coinciding with the movement.
