Electronic differences between 200r4 and 700r4

What are the electronic differences between the 200r4 and 700r4? Are there three wires going to the 200r4? Is the connector compatable? Does the ECM control the TCC functionality just like it would the 700r4?

The ECM does controll the TCC functionality in the 700r4. There are three wires that go to the 700r4. Two from the ECM and one to the brake switch. The speed where TCC lockup occurs can be changed in the prom.

The ECM does not control the shift points in the 700r4. I don't want this post to focus on the ECM control of the transmission...which it does not do.

Does the 200r4 have TCC functionality? I have never worked with a 200r4 and never seen a 200r4 to know if it has electronics going to it.

ok i thought you were after how the ecm shifts the trans and nothing more. it's hard to gauge someones knowledge or lack of knowledge on a subject and as brief as your question was lead me to belive you only was concerned about shifting.

Yes it does, and it uses the same 4 pin connector as the 700R4. The wiring of internal switches may or may not be slightly different.

Awesome, that answers part of my question. Anyone know if the wiring is different?

I don't have wiring diagrams for the 200-4R, but it would depend on what car it came out of, what engine it had, and possibly a few other things.

Some 700r4's, like the one in my 84 TA are locked up by a vacuum switch, not the ecm, but they still use the same 4 pin connector.
