tranny compatibility
im pretty sure the answer is yes but will an 86 V8 700-R4 go into a 90 350 tpi engine with no problems?

i just realized that the 86's have a mech speedo and the 90's have an electric, i have the tranny from my 90 but the gears are all torn to hell and im getting the 86 one for free is it possible to change the tail shaft out so i can use my electric speedo

A close personal friend I could tell anything...
I'd slap you upside the head with an audible <:::POP:::> so you'd quit your blubbering.
Now remove the tailhousing, put the 90 speedo drive gear on the 86 output (if different tooth count) and install the 90 VSS crap. Expect the earlier (pre-88) trans. to not live as long as an 88+ model.

thanks a good slap upside the head is exactly what i needed
and thats exactly what i needed to know. Ya this tranny already has 170 k on it
