I recently purchased a Summit cover and was surprised that it had no provsion for a magnet (when I pulled the stock cover, the mag was not attached to the cover but was simply lying at the bottom of the case). What are my options?

I'm not sure I understand what options you're looking for.

As far as the magnet, I don't recall ever seeing an aluminum cover that had one mounted in it. If you really want it mounted to the case, I suppose you could epxoy it there; otherwise, leave it laying in the bottom of the case. It does its job just fine from there.

Are we talking of the Summit aluminium 10-bolt covers? If so, the magnet is the drain plug.

Humm, I'll have to recheck--the cover is from Summit. I didn't think the plug was magnetized.
