Well, my transmission started slipping in third and fourth gear yesterday at about anything more than 10% throttle and today to get it to change gears from 1st to 2nd and then from 2nd to third I have to put it in neutral and then back in to drive otherwise it will shift at around 4k while I am giving it only little throttle. I drive a 92 Camaro with a 3.1 and automatic. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I also read in another forum that the ECM could not be getting a good sensor reading from th tranny and not telling it to shift but I think that was for a V8 tranny. I also installed a new tranny filter and gasket, new fluid and some trannny additive but then it started the whole not wanting to shift thing. Thanks in advance.

 

Is your TV cable adjusted properly?

 

No I hadn't checked that yet because it seemed as though all the other posts had adifferent thing happening to them with that problem but I will check it tommorow and see where it gets me.

 

checked that today, it was loose but after I fixed it I drove it for maybe a 1/4 mile and still the same problem, is it the governor gear and if it is where is the best place to go to read/see about replacing it.

 

well, checked the governor gear today but it was near new looking and everything looked to be in good working order so now i have no clue as to what could be causing this, anyone got a clue?
