Need more tranny help...
Ok, heres the story:
i pulled out my TH400 because it was needing a rebuild. I put in a TH400 that my buddy had, also installing a shift kit. We got the tranny in and upon filling the fluid (with the car running) it dropped into reverse (exactly what we were looking for). we shut the car off, went and bought some more tranny fluid and when we started it back up it wouldn't go back into gear. you can just move through the shifter and there is no indication that the tranny wants to engage. Yes i checked the linkage, i even shifted it by turning the linkage bracket itself.
here is what we have swapped/done sofar:
swapped valve body from other tranny
Swapped vacuum modulator from other tranny
New filter
Hurst shift kit (propperly installed)
Here is the kicker, when i noticed that after about 20 minutes of running the tranny pan wasn't even warm i decided to check out the pressure regulator. when i pulled it out i found this:

the spring was broke into 4 pieces, and i have no idea why....
i put the spring from the other tranny in there, put the thing all back together and i still have nothing.
Can someone please help me out? this thing is stuck in my buddies driveway and his wife is getting annoyed
Thanks,
Dave

never mind, aparently when we put this tranny in we didn't get the torque converter 100% lined up with the pump and broke it
oh well, looks like it's time for a nice new B&M tranny
