How old is your trans? Is it full of fluid? Could be a bad clutch.
Or could be your stater is free wheeling, the one way roller could be bad. Symptoms are engine revs, but car is slow to accelerate.
How does it do when you get it up to speed 55+????

Can you feel the clank or is it more a thump and next time you go the shift into drive put your hand on the hump right behind the center console the put it in drive and see if you can feel the sound if you can its time to replace either your tranny mount or your torque arm mount / bushing....If its your torque arm that would take from your pickup speed because its changing the angle of the driveline and rearend versus holding it straight and stiff
Hope That helps with your problem

Alright, i went to a transmission guy by me..Very respectable. Anyway, he checked it all out, put it through its gears on the backroads and he said the tranny felt fine. I dont think he felt what i am..a loss of power. It feels like the car is being held back.Th clnking is the mounts, i need motor and tranny mounts..
So any ideas??I just got tune up w/ sparkplugs too...
