Backwards clutch disk?

I just finished putting my car back together after a motor rebuild.
I installed a new clutch as well. The clutch isn't unloading enough. It unloads enough to start and stop the car, but I can't put the tranny gear while the motor's running and the car's standing still. The only thing I can think of is that I put the disk in backwards, because I know that the throw out bearing is in the right way, and I had the flywheel machined. What are the symptoms of a backwards disk? Would I have noticed when I assembled the clutch? The clutch doesn't make any funny noises either. Please help.

James

Gotta be the single most often asked T-5 question....

Look at the pic, and tell us which way you put the throwout onto the fork.

I know the TOB is in correctly. I need to know if a backwards clutch disk can be diagnosed without removing the transmission.

i need a little help here too.....i just did a complete clutch job but when i press in the clutch its soft, really soft and doesnt feel like its working correctly. i cant start the car yet, no throttle body, but it feels like somethings really wrong. it will go into all gears just fine, whether the clutch pedal is pressed in or depressed and shifting gears feels the exact same way for both situations. the fork adjuster nut on the bellhousing is halfway in, the TO bearing is on correctly, the fork is on the ball stud, slave works fine, pressure plate is on the correct side, and the flywheel was machined and im at a loss....
