is it the TCC switch?

alright, i'm not getting any TCC lockup, originally i was thinking that i was having this problem from dash wiring, but now i'm thinking that's not the case. I wired up a manual TCC lock switch, had no luck with it. (One wire went to top left, one wnet to top right of ALDL, switch either way, goes to nothing). Today i hooked a tester light to the terminal, and grounded it, the light would light up w/ the ignition in on, and would go off when the brake was applied. So, apparently the TCC is getting power, and the wiring between the TCC switch and ALDL terminal are good....This also tells me that the brake switch isn't bad, so....i was thinking that i might have been having this problem long before, would the TCC switch be the most likely culprit? just trying to narrow down the options. Thanks.

The tcc solenoid may be mechanically locked up.

At some point though, the electrical signal has to control the locking of the clutch, which is a mechanical device. There's a solenoid inside the valve body which moves a check ball to route the fluid to lock and unlock the TCC. For whatever reason the solenoid may be electrically sound, but some kind of mechanical or hydraulic failure is preventing the clutch from locking.

that would still mean that replacing the selenoid would be the fix to the problem...if i'm understanding everything correctly.

Replacing the solenoid might fix the problem, or it could be something else.

Unless the passage itself is plugged changing the solenoid will fix it.
