While at a red light - Iheard a slight metallic sound -TING!
When the light turned Green -- Iapplied the throttle and the vehile would not move - With the SElector in Overdrive , Drive OR D2-. When I placed the Selector IN LOW -- THE Vehicle acelerated Very Well-- I Was able to Drive Home - The Vehicle has good Power adn PULL in LOW and REverse ONLY .
I cheecked the Thottle Valve Cable lingage And IT will Operate and Extend approximatelly 1 Inch. .... Do I need to Pul the TV cable at the transmission end for cable issues?
All help would be appreciated ----Should I pull The Govenor --

Those are two possible causes for your problem. I would look into the manuel valve in the trans.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I rather follow up on all the little things first.

would the Transmission be able to go in Reverse and Pull with the shift selector in D1 (LOW) if the Govenor were bad or stripped

If the govener were bad it should move in all gears. It just wouldnt shift. Another thing that makes me thinks its somewhere other than the govener is that you said it made a noise when you were stopped. The govener is only moving when the car is in motion.
