any way to know what's in the car from VIN
Hey guys,
I found a rear end 2 hours from where I live for a very decent price, but the guy I spoke with is clueless and it appears his a$$ is glued to the sit next to the phone.
He said the rear is from 97 V6 camaro. Doesn't know what the ratio is, or whether or not it is open/limited slip.
He did give me a VIN, so is there any way I can use that to figure out what that rear end was? I am still not sure if I should even be looking at V6 parts, but I am hoping someone will answer soon to that one as well.

Not really, you could try taking the VIN to a dealer and asking if they can pull the RPO codes for it.
