Bolt-In 6-speed ??!
i just heard that someone makes a 6-speed transmission that will bolt up exaclty where the T-5 used to be, and you can order it with your own gear ratios!! doesn't anyone know anything abuot this? if so i say SCROOO the T-56.

hum??? a t-56 still but was made to replace the t-5. it's mentioned in the t56 swap sticky (you only need to shorten the drive shaft If I remember) nothing new

From what i read you have to change the whole clutch assembly, and shorten the driveshaft. i don't really consider that bolt in, ESPECIALLY having to convert the clutch. and i don't know of any driveshaft shops around here. but shortening then re-balanceing a driveshaft sounds like it could be expensive to me.

car was an auto so we just had to mount a pedal assembly. but the transmission bolts right up to the engine and the DS and torque arm work fine. i dunno, it was plain as day to me.

wow i had no idea it was so simple. i was under the impression it involved cutting a bigger hole for your shifter, and fabricating/buying a new crossmember. how much did you get the T-56 for with everything included?

i paid alot for mine, i got it a while back. Ive seen people getting killer deals on them lately though. shop around. my car was an automatic so Im not sure aobut making the hole bigger, i actually had to cut a hole since there was none to start with.good luck!
it really was a worthwhile swap
