Strange oils
Strange but true...Back in the days of 49 Merc Flat Heads, 49 Caddys etc...we used to run Castor Oil (From the castor bean). Then it was the best racing oil one could get. Guarranteed everyone could tell you were using it from the smell...

I was kidding about the extra virgin. But i do know a few people who use various oils. I know seasme seed oil (spelling?) could be mixed with another oil to create good oil.

To answer your question. A few buddies of mine run bimmers. They report when switcing to lucas synthetic oils they noticed improved performace. They've been running it for about a year or so now with no problems. And problems should arise within a year if they're gonna be a problem, cause these arnt small cars (540's) and they have plenty of power. More then enough to blow a rear end if need be. (one kids got 360 hp to the rear wheels)

Personally i wouldn't use it in my Nine Bolt. I say run the cheap stuff with some additive. Once you rebuild her, or get a 12 or 9" use the nice stuff from new. Better yet ask moser or simliar if they will see a performance increase. Or if it will void any warrenty they have. Good luck trying to blow that rear end.
