Car: 1986 Camaro
Engine: 383 Stroker
What tranny do I have?
I have an 1986 Camaro that came with a 305 TPI and an auto transmission. I took out the engine and installed a new 383, so I am wondering if the tranny could take the added power, and what modle it is? Also, the guy I bought the car from was unsure if it was a Z28 or IROC. Could this car be one? Thanks.

1986 Auto would be the 700R4 . Depends on how you drive and don't do anything DUMB.

Axle/Gears: stock pegleg 2.73 drum (temp)
700r4s don't really like more than 300hp/300tq.

What your source of information. A stock 350 has 345 #/ft of Tq.
