At what speed should the transmission go into 3rd gear on a T700R4 under real light acceleration basically just touching the gas pedal.

Mine goes into 3rd at 20mph is that about normal? Or does it seem a bit low?

 

It kinda depends on what gearing you have but my car with 2.73 and less than 2k rpms while accelerating will shift to 3 around there.

 

Irocn, with 3.27's my transmission will shift into 3rd by 20mph if I am being extremily gentle with the throttle. I mean the barest of touch. Going WOT it'll hold to 4,500rpm, or about 60mph in 2nd gear before shifting into 3rd.

All of this will change depending on what rear gears you have. Transmission affects it too, but we know you have a 700r4 in there.

FRUITYONE: i have 3.23 so it seems pretty much the same as what you experience. Mine will also hold till 4500 rpm when at WOT.

I was just worried that after I did my trans service the shifts seem softer for some reason. So I was just checking if all is okay. I have adjusted the TV cable.

Do you live on Prarie? I pass by a 91 RS every day on my way to work. I'm not exactly sure of the cars color.

 

Thats not me the only way you can see my car is if you have x-ray vision, or i happen to be out and about.
