what type of gains am i looking at?

upgrade to strange 12 bolt 3.73 gears

It helps to let us know what you upgraded from. I wouldnt expect a huge gain from any gear change. Maybe .5 sec max.

With a stock 305 TBI you will gain mimimal at best. I wouldn't waste all of your money on a strange 12 bolt when you only have 170hp. That is unless you have plans for something scary in the near future. You should never be able to break your stock 10 bolt with an LO3.

Axle/Gears: strange 12 bolt 3.73's
i do have something scary in plained. LS1 running mid to high 11's naturally aspirated. or a boosted LS1. and its the same amount of money if i beef up the stock crap rearend. o btw i have a peg leg 3.08 rear gear now.

You will not be able to re-use these headers on an LS1. You can use them on any Gen I and II block but not a Gen III.

What headers? If it comes to the same price with either rear go for it, and also put that LS1 in there. For right now though, a quarter of second best.
