700r4 problems

700r4 problems

at the track with a fresh 700r4.,,, 2000 street stall l/up converter and a megashifter....couldnt get trans to shift out of low at under 6500..usually about 6700-7000......way to high..i would shift it manually and it wont shift..all other shifts were ok..i moved cable about a 1/16 at a tiime from the original spot it never changed..also i dont have the lock up hooked up yet how can i test it to see if it will lock up?..i just want to make sure that it does..i will hook it up later...any ideas..this trans was rebuilt by a good builder..hes kinda scratching his head a bit on the phone..thanks

Not sure about the 1-2 shift...almost sounds like a govenor problem, but your other shifts are fine....hmmm could be some kind of blockage from your govenor to the 1-2 valve...not sending enough pressure to the valev to make it shift.

Being in a third gen, you can short pins A&F on your connector under your dash and your TCC should lock up in 2-4, unless the rebuilder changed that.

Find our what your builder did to it and let us know.

if you jump those pins what kind of effect does it do to the way it runs?

Nothing...it will act like a standard transmission...you can "feel" it as far as the way it accellerates.

But DON'T leave it that way!
