Keep on breaking tranny mounts

I've replaced my broken stock one with:

1) ES with spacer plate, broke mount after a couple thousand miles. Large wear marks where tranny mount bolts to cross-member.

2) ES without spacer plate, used new tranny cross-member, no more wear marks. Replaced because of groaning/squeeking noise from underneath, but it didn't break.

3) Stock rubber mount, broke within a thousand miles.

4) Prothane mount and tranny mount, was quiet for a couple of days. Now squeeks and thumps over speedbumps/road bumps.

Could one or more of my motor mounts be shot? Car has never been in an accident. Need some help to figure out what's causing the mounts to break. Also, when driving over sharp bumps it feels/sounds like the tranny is moving up and down a little bit causing the mount to make noise and eventually break. However, whenever I put my hand on the shifter, even when the mounts were broken, I couldn't feel any movement.

TIA

if its an automatic transmission, you wont feel any movement with the shifter because it is no way attached to the transmission, it is bolted to your floorpan.

Its an auto. How can I determine whether the motor mounts are shot?
