Hi, I recently purchased a used ford 9" that'll fit on my third gen. It's got 3.83 gears.. Now, I bought it off ebay and didnt realize it wasn't posi. Now, heres my question. How do I convert to posi, I know its possible. Do I have to get a posi carrier? if so, what kind and from where.

Can someone help me pleasE?:hail:

just an option, I dunno how easily the powertrax system installs on the ford but from what I have read it's supposed to be a really great unit, it mounts in your open carrier, then you have a full locker but you still have the driveability of an open rearend, I was gonna put it in my 10 bolt but I decided to do like you and just get a 9". do a search and you should find alot more info about the richmond powertrax unit
