Transgo shift kit
I have a 700r4 automatic transmission with a B&M console shifter.. a friend told me i could make my car into a manual but i didnt wanna have to go through with cuttin out my floor board and installing a clutch.. with the transgo shift kit i can shift up and down inbetween gears? 1st - 2nd - 3rd and 4th? otherwise i can keep it in automatic and it shifts gears faster? what benifits does this kit have on the car? and with the B&M can i shift it manually if i want?

The full Trans-go shift kit has the option of leaving your valve body full auto or auto/manual. It will tell you in the installation instructions how to do it for each. I did mine manual/auto and it works great. Realize if you are going to get the full bennifit out of this kit you will need to drop the trans to install the new selvo. Read and study the instructions and watch the video before you start. Then have the instructions with you as you go one step at a time.

how long would you say it takes to drop the transmission? on a scale of 1-10
1 being easy 10 being advanced how would u rate it.

There is no need to drop the transmission to install the Corvette servo. Everything can be done from the bottom. If you want this kit to give you smooth shifts at light throttle, & firm shifts at WOT, then go to http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/custo...&cat=28&page=1 this will give you everything you need. If I can be of help, let me know?

You do have to tilt the transmissoin downward to install install the servo. You do not have to completely remove the trans. I would rate this kit a 4. It would be an even smaller number, but you can't make a mistake in the valve body.

Question: The Pro-built website says that the referenced Transgo kit is recommended for 1988 and up 700-R4s. Incoming has a 1986. Is this a concern? Was thinking about getting the same kit for my 87?

When installing your kit in an 87 is there something we should look out for or any precautions to take?
The 1987 is a combination of early valve body with late internals. For some reason I & others that do these units have had problems on about 50% of the time. I have not been able to solve them, so I do not use these as a start for the Performance buildups. For HD use (modifying the The Trans-Go Shift kit & not using the Performance Shift kit) I have no problems.

Durability is important, so you would recommend the heavy duty transgo kit as the best performance alternative for an 87 700 R4?
Re: Transgo shift kit
I have a 700r4 on a 85 z28 305, I just added a transgo shift kit and a 2/4 servo, my shifts seem late, I tried putting a crimp fishing weight to adjust the Tv cable still seams late, any ideas? Also with a shift kit does that mean I can shift with my automatic transmission
