700r4 problem

just put in a pro-built 700r4 that i purchased from a local member. the tranny seems alright, but i cant get the adjustment right on the tv cable. the tranny shifts so hard on the 1-2 shift that the back tires break lose everytime. and it doesnt shift until 2500rpm, when it slams into gear. this is when just driving normally through town.

i've adjusted the tv cable by the method that is in a thread a day or two ago

anyother way to adjust it?

Which torque converter are you using? & what is the rear end gear ratio? I set these units up to "match" the vehicle/driver/motor/rear end combination. If you change the torque converter for example, the firmness of the shifts can change. Let me know what you have & what it was originally matched with?

its the same tq converter that the guy ordered it with....the contenital i believe. i have 3.42 gears now, the same as the guy i bought it from. i dont think its how the tranny was setup, since when i first put it in, it shifted hard, but then i tried to adjust the tv cable, and it got even harder 1-2 shift. even the 2-3 shift got a lot harsher after i tried to readjust the cable. if the cable is out of adjustment can that make the trans shift to hard?

the thing that im kind of worried about, is when i really get into the throttle the tranny shifts a little less firm, but still a very quick shift.

would it be better to give you a call so we can discuss it in more detail? whats the number? and best time

thanks
