after market 12 bolt

has anyone ordered a moser/strange/currie 12 bolt with impala/truck ends and then used the 11" drum brakes. The hole in the backing plate is about 3 3\16 which should let the big ford bearings go through without pressing the bearing off and on. No disk info needed.

then what would you use to retain the axle? Usually the backing plate is the retainer.

it would be retained by one of those U shaped retainers that all the companies have. That would be on the brake side of the backing plate.
