t56 swap - ls1 vs. lt1

i haven't been able to find the information i'm looking for. my plan is to eventually have an ls1 and t56. for money purposes, my plan would probably be to swap the t56 in the summer, then do the ls1 conversion the following year. from what i've read, an lt1 t56 is a much better choice to swap into a 3rd gen. if i did that, when i do the ls1 conversion, would the lt1 t56 work with the ls1 at all, or would i have to swap in an ls1 t56. would i be better off swapping in an ls1 t56 right from the start? how does the ls1 t56 need to be modified in order to bolt it to the tpi motor? would those mods need to be reversed once i swap in the ls1? or would my best bet be to just hold off and swap in the t56 and ls1 at the same time?

You would be better off waiting and do the LS1 engine and the LS1 T56 at the same time. The T56 from and LT1 will not bolt up to the LS1 engine cause the bellhousing is completely different. you cant put an LS1 T56 behind a SBC for the same reason. also the other diffrence between the LS1 and the LT1 are the output shafts. one is shorter than the other. hope this helps.

LS1 t56 will not mate up to a standard SBC motor, or a LT1 engine. Too many differenes including bellhousing and input shaft.

Just might as well wait and a LS1/t56 swap at the same time, instead of having to do a LT1 t56 to mate to the TPI motor, then a complete LS1/t56 package which will cost motor...
