i changed out my first ring and pinion gear today, and honestly, it wasnt as bad as i expected. it can be done by people who arent experts. just thought i would try to inspire other do it yourselfers.

 

first time i did one was for a 13 sec. 69 camaro 12 bolt. gear was a 4:56 with 3 theeth missing. did it for a friend and he didn't truct me with a good gear so we used a old one. turned out ok and i set it up again with a 4:88. he got the car into the 11s with the front in the air and my set up never broke, he did break spider gears. finially went to a spool. having the right tools makes a big differance.

 

im going to track test my new setup this weekend at atlanta dragway. ill post the results. hoping for mid to high 12's.
