no 1-2 shift problem found
i had posted last week that my 700r4 in my 84Z had no 1-2 shift or any shift for that matter and i think i found the problem after dropping the pan and inspecting as i installed the corrective shift kit i had laying around i found that the spring in the 1-2 accumulator had snapped in three pieces
so i replaced it with the one in the kit and install the corvette servo and then refill it and let you know how it goes but i think that could do it

you might be right
i put it back together and it shifts to second but only at like wot and no 2-3 or 3-4 that i cant tell without really speeding so im gonna try the govorner. u think that the broken spring may have caused the 1-2 shift hang i had? seemed better to me but no other shifts......................

deos anyone have the phone number for pro built or a number he can be reached at??? i think it would help to talk to him
the accumulator spring partially controls accumulator pressure influence during band application on a 1/2 shift.it will not cause a no shift condition, only shift complaints on ratio changes.if the governor is not opening all the way the car will start in 1 and shift to 2 and when the valve stops moving in relation to centrifugical force due to output shaft rpm the other shaifts will be cut off.you need to install a pressure gage and note line pressures response to the tvcable being pulled.this will point you where to look .you could have burnt 3/4 clutches causing the primary ring gear not to be driven during 3/4 clutch application.give us a ring if you need further help.

thanks chris i will try to get the pressure on monday, would i have noticed some symtoms if the 3-4 clutch pack were going the car was fine on the drive into work then when i went to go to lunch i had no shift, now after the install of the corrective shift kit i have 1-2 but no other shifts.... it just happened liek over night
if i pull the govorner out to inspect it what should i look for as part of a visual inspection?

The other part of inspection is to note the inner valve, it should freely move as the governor is turned to face up and down. Same with the weights, they should easily open and close.
