transgo 700-P seperator plate missing hole
i have just recieved my transgo 700-P valve body seperator plate.
i have a couple questions.
88' model 700-R4
1.) the transgo plate is missing hole #26 which is detent. do i need to drill a hole there? why is it not there?
2.) the plate has an added orfice for added check for 93 models. mine is an 88' model. it's small hole next to #5. my plate of course does not have this hole. will this make a difference if i leave it unplugged.

i was guessing it was an update or something?????
i guess i will just drill a hole of similar size and be done with it.

the detent hole omitted allows the use of either a slotted or unslotted line bias valve .dont drill. the extra ball used on the 93 only valve body cant be installed in the earlier castings because there is no pocket, however the plate will work.i dont use the transgo plate as there is a 1993 plate that is available thru gm that will fit ALL 84 to 93 models auxilary or not.

well son of *****. do u have a part# for that plate? next time i'll get that one instaed of this one.
thanks for the info. i will not drill the hole.

If your "original" plate has the hole, then you need to add it to yours. To make sure, check your line bias valve, if your valve has no flat spot on it, it requires the use of the hole in the VB plate for bleed off. The valve with a flat spot "does not" require this hole. Use a .187" drill to get it close to the original size. As for the other additional hole, no problem. I use the round valve with matching hole in the valve body plate in everything over 500 horsepower, under this either setup is fine.

well i took apart the valvebody today and the bias valve appears to be a normal valve. it does not has a flat spot. i will drill the plate to have a 3/16"(i measured it to be .185") and it is the same size as the old one. thanks alot.
btw... how hard is a sk-700 to install?
