go to autozone, tell them what your doing, you can "rent" the proper tool. then get all your money back when you return it. if you search on this board you will even find pictures of it.

thanks for the info but the closest auto zone is about 200 miles away. i got what was left of it out with a screwdriver and a hammer. What left doesn't even look like a pilot bearing anymore it just looks like peices of brass.

pack it full of grease then take a socket or dowel that will just fit into the hole and tap with a hammer. the bearing will fall out.

because it's behind a 350. j/k

I was just curious if the trashed pilot bushing cause any problems. Is the new one in yet? Did you go with a new brass bushing or roller bearing?

FYI. The roller bearing is only $7.99 at GM parts direct. but you do have to pay shipping.

Thanks for the info on that. but i needed it asap hoping that it would take care of my problem but it didn't. and i am not going to pull the trans again just to put in a roller pilot bearing when i don't need to just yet. the clucth still dosent want to disengage so it is sitting for a little bit longer.

did you remove the clutch/flywheel?....did u use an alignment tool to realign the clutch?..

how old are your hydraulics?....how did you install the throwout bearing in the clutch fork?...if the little "clips" on the clutch fork are on the outside of the throwout bearing then thats your problem....theres a pic of it on here...search for "throwout bearing"

f-crazy yes i did remove the clutch but didn't remove the flywheel. yes i used an alinment tool when i put the clutch back on. my clutch system doesn't have any hydraulics. the throw out bearing was installed correctly. The z-bar is shot. i am waiting to get the 140 bucks to go and buy a new one.
