help! i need a used vss, ive been driving without one for over a year now and i really would like to have the lost power back. i figure i can grind down the shaft one a vss to fit in my mech speedo hookup on my th350, then simply plug it back in. the correct speedo gears are already in the 350. anyone have any thrifty ideas on how i can accomplish this? any help would be greatly welcomed. if you have not noticed, i have swaped to a th350 from the 700.thanks.

 

Hey, I'm not sure what a VSS is, but if it's a gear driven electronic speedometer sending unit sending from a later T5 I have one. Maybe if I know what a VSS is I'd know why not having one gives a loss of power.

 

vehicle speed sensor. the car goes off the scale rich on the dyno at 3800rpm. i didnt think anything of it when i sold my two blowen up 700s, otherwise id of made one fit then.

 

but......if you have one i need it!

 

It's no trick; you just need a 700-R4 or TH350-C tailhousing with the large speedo gear hole, and a later 700 VSS will fit right in. I believe I have one in my toolbox in my car. PM or email me if you want it.

 

OK, mine's out of a '91 T5--probably not the same, and I call it a gear driven electronic speedometer sending unit so maybe it's not even a VSS, or is it?
