700R4 question???
Im going to get my tranny rebuilt... im also going to put an B&M shift kit in there. I have a stock 305 TBI... would it be a good idea to put a high stall troque converter on there??? after i do that im going to get 3.73 gears or maybe 4.11..

I used the Trans-Go shift kit when I rebuilt my tranny, it worked great. Available from Summit Racing, about $130 though. Unless you plan on adding a cam that would require a high stall converter, I wouldent go that rout. There are some stall converters that offer a stall speed somewhat higher than stock. These offer quicker acceleration, higher cruising speeds, and in some cases better gas milage.

Ramair21,
Since I live pretty close(sacramento) give me a call at 916-974-7664. I can help you out. I can tell you the ups and downs of different stalls on TC. I have also used and installed shift kits so I know which one works better.

I agree with max, if you a have a stock tbi motor I wouldn't be thinking about higher stall converter just yet. Put that money towards a better cam, intake etc. in order to get that tbi making power past 4000rpm then you can start looking into higher stall and gears based on the engine's response to those mods.
