clutch
ok i have had an off and on problem with my clutch disengageing. What i have done is replaced the z-bar thinking that was the problem. Well I took it out and it was screwed. Now I can't get the thing to stay in adjustment. Friday night I had it working for the first time in 2 weeks so I was going out to tear some r*cers up and the after about 30 min of driving once again clutch wouldn't disenge. After work on sat went and bought some thread rod to make a longer adjuster hopeing that would help. Now my petal is all the way out and won't go out anymore and still won't disengage. Took it to my brother in law to see if he could figure out what was up with it. He said every thing was good and looked right. I know that though out bearing is good and every thing else is good so i am stumped and so is he. What could I be over looking? thanks

well i still have the problem I have been listining close to see if i can hear anything and it sounds like the TOB is makeing all sorts of noise. Also the clutch petal feels like a rotten apple would feel when you push on it. Could TOB be the cause of this? thanks

if yuo're using the z bar check the point where the bar bolts to the chassis, just under the master cil.and the brake booster,my z28 has been down for 3 months because the chassis was torn and all the movement was lost,if yours is doing the same have someone press the pedal while you check that spot and see if it's not bending the chassis,if it is,then g0d help us all cause i dont know how to fix it

sr bond, that part of the chassis. when i put the z-bar back in i had to modify that bracket the bolts to the chassis and it looked the same as it did when i put it in the first time.

anyone else think of something?? I am out of options and snow is here and it is the only thing I to drive right now. I really don't want to be doing the shut car off at stop lights with snow on the ground. it is gut less enough on the stuff and the wrap to 3 grand and shift stuff isn't going to work on snow eaither.

Sounds like you're not getting enough travel for one reason or another, so it won't disengage the clutch.
Might want to make double sure you have the TOB installed in the clutch fork the right way, and the clutch fork is'nt bent any kind of weird way...
That's all I can think of besides tearing the whole thing down again. Good luck with it!

I don't know what else I can do to get more travel i already have about a foot of adjuster and the petal is all the way out. the TOB is installed right. from what i can tell the fork isn't bent in any weird ways. i really don't want to tear the damn thing apart again. but i guess i will if i have to. thanks for the info.

I have a zbar. the car that the t-5 is in is my 90. the trans came out of my 83. i wish it was hydrolic. it would make things a lot easier if it was but i have to work with what i have. cash is really tight at the moment so that is why it still has the zbar. one day hopefulley i will get away from that.

it doing it again
same problem just not as bad right now for now. Last night i race a 2000 accord and stomped a mud hole in it. after we where done i went and let the car hide for a while and the clutch wasn't disingaging. let it sit for about 30 min and it started working again. could the TOB be gettin hot and not working right? because it seems like when i push the car hard the clutch won't disengage right. let it sit for a while the it works for a while.. Could TOB not be working the way it should when it gets warm. Or could some thing else be the culprit. thanks.
