TH-350 brace?

TH-350 brace?
Hey guys, I'm here to ask a question on behalf of a friend.
He owns an 86 Camaro that was a 2.8 MPFI before we swapped in a 350. Now what came with the 350 was the TH-350.
Now he told me about a bar that goes from the rear axle to the brace of the transmission.... but the TH350 does not have a brace for the bar to slide into? He was wondering where he could order the brace from?
I'd actually like to know what all the terminology is lol
Also, would any of the driveshaft need changing since hes goin from a v6 engine/transmission to a v8 engine/transimission.
Sorry if any of this is too vague. I see him later today, so I could probably pick up some more info. But whatever advice/answers will be greatly appreciated

your talking about the torque arm. it does not brace the trans, it simply holds pinon angle. you need that. b@m, hurst and a few others make kits to make it a bolt in deal. i used the b@m part, but there will be other members who will post a link to a site that uses a spacer and adapts the 700r4 tailshaft to fit the th 350. i would go this route.

You need to do some searching for TH350 and Torque Arm
B&M makes a t.a. bracket kit that'd work.
driveshaft has to be longer when going from 700-R4 to TH350 shorttail. If he has a longer TH350 it may not need changed.

Sorry guys I haven't responded yet to these posts.... thanks for clearing up the name of that bar.... as for the brace thing... I'll print out this page here so that I can show my friend your responses and he probably could best describe it himself and I'll just post on his behalf (he doesn't have an account here)

Yes. I debated buying a new B&M and wondered why the Hurst was $20 more since the pics in Jegs shows basically the same parts, but my Hurst unit came with that extra plate you see that bolted to the TH350 tranny mount and extended it back/forward(cant remember it's been awhile) so it would bolt into the stock cross member. I got mine off e-bay for $40 i think a few yrs ago, and found a TH350 with the 9" tailshaft and everything bolted right back up and used the same driveshaft I had for my old 700r4, so it was a very simple swap when I did it.
Once I put the new stuff in I just made my own crossmember since the new toruqe arm bolts to the tranny tunnel.
