Engine idles on freeway with no throttle?
My assumption is that this is something related to the transmission. It just started the other day. Doesn't do it consistantly and is with a 700r4 in an 87 GTA
When I'm on the freeway in OD if I let off the throttle the engine will drop to just above idle. Also I tried it at lower speeds and in third, if I let off the throttle at midrange RPM it will drop a bit (normal) but sometimes it will start dropping to idle then catch. I can just pick up a sound like something disengaging then re-engaging.
Any ideas/solutions before I jump into this? Thanks!

its going into neutral. dont worry your saving gas
id think it might be a band or a clutch but ive never had that problem when u gas it again does it lockup right away or does it slip. if it slips then its a band or a clutch 75% chance at least
