Vigilante TC too much?

Hey guys,

I've got an opportunity to purchase a 3,000mi used Vigilante 9.5" 2800 Lockup TC for $400.00

My question is how will this work with my setup and is it too much?

Current Setup:

L98 Longblock (All stock heads/cam/bottom end etc...)
RPM Air Gap Intake
670 SA Holley VS (I know stupid... 650 VS cheaper we all learn)
Hooker 1 5/8" Headers/Y
3" Catback

The car was originally a L03 (92). So I believe it has a 2.73 One wheel peel out back and the 700R4 is equally as Stock. How will this Torque Converter behave in this /mild/ engine??? This is not my daily, just a weekend, but if it is too much I can get a S10 converter a hell of a lot cheaper...

Also it might help if you know what my plans are.
I have completed Stage I (305 --> 350)
Stage II = AFR 195 Heads/Large Cam
Stage III = 383 Bottom End / or HT383 Shortblock
Stage IV = Conversion to DFI (Stealthram or Miniram)
And all along the way improving suspension etc...
Stage 1001 = LS7 (WOW) hehe j/k I wish...

I've got Stage I done, I'd be lucky to get Stage II even by 06 (two chillin' ) But thats the plan anyhow.

Any opinions? Pick up the Vig, or go with a S10???

Thanks!!!

if you plan on doing all of that, then i would go ahead and buy it, and install it with stage II....you really need a set of gears to keep the converter out of its stall range all the time..

Has anyone had experience with the S10 converters??? Only thing I'm afraid of is that after I get farther along that the 2800 will not be enough and even though I only paid $400.00 thats $400 towards the 3500 stall.

I've heard the S10 converters stall at around 2200 and new are only around 150 + core. Probably find one in the boneyard for much less....
