big or small bearing
Can someone please give me some clues on how to determine if my ford 9" rearend is a big or small bearing? Im trying to order some baer's and i need this info.
Rearend is from the 70's i think. That would eliminate torino bearing, correct?

What size socket do you need to remove the bearing retainer?
If I remember correctly, the small bearing housing uses a 3/4" socket while the large bearing case needs a 7/8" socket. You could also measure the distance between the retainer bolts. Large bearing is 2-1/4" width.
