big problem small fix

well recently when I would go to punch it, my trans would knock real hard. Found out that it was the tranny mount. Put on new polyurethane from energy suspension and it's as good as new! Upon inspection of the old one, the rubber completely separated from metal bracket. Anyone else ever have this happen to them? I guess I have a heavy right foot or too much torque. I'll try to post pics soon.

This problem occurs alot on 3rd gen. At least you found the problem and fixed it with a better (polyurethane ) tranny mount. Driving in reverse and slamming it int drive then flooring it would cause a weak tranny mount to break as well.

Yes. Thousands upon thousands of 82-up f-body owners. The tq. arm pretty much causes it, as other vehicles with no tq. arm (but same mount & transmission style) don't have the problem.
