tranny cooler big enough?

i just recently installed a 2400stall 10" ati converter with my freshly rebuilt/beefed up 700r4. this converter does have lockup and performs very well. i want to keep it that way. currently, i have the coolant lines hooked up to the rad, just like stock. i've heard this is OK, but to get an aftermarket, stand alone cooler on as soon as i can. well, i had a cooler laying around the shop, my dad said it would be ok to use. once i got it outta the box, it was really small. wondered if it would be ok to use. it's like 9"x5 1/2"x1/2" will it do the job or am i better off with the stock cooler for now till i can buy a larger cooler?

edit: the water temp for the motor never gets hotter than 175*, does this help? also i have an electric coolan fan that i run from the time it gets to 160* till i shut the car off.

I've compared temperatures with and without an extra cooler and it doesn't seem like it takes much to make a big difference in fluid temperature. It will probably work, especially when you consider that you'd probably get away with just using the stock cooler.

could i possibly run it in-line with the factory cooler to have two coolers?

thinking i am going to run both the factory and the aftermarket cooler. which line should i splice into, the top or the bottom. the bottom one is the one i am thinking, cause it should be the return line, but i'm not sure.

I run both. The bottom line is the supply line to the cooler, not the return line.
