TH700R4 questions....

just the other day i was on the freeway a few miles from my house and my tranny started slipping when i'd give it gas. it felt like nothing was applying at all. anyway, low gear is the only gear i can get around in but if i put it in drive or OD....once it shifts out of first the rpms just go up as if it was in neutral. reverse also works too. i have pulled apart a few transmission in school, but i'm no trans genius by any means. if anyone has had a similar problem could you help me out? i was thinking that maybe the kickdown band isn't applying or something.....but maybe i have no idea what the hell i'm talking about. also, if i'm going to rebuild it, i want to do a performance rebuild....so if anyone has any words of wisdom about that, i'd really appreciate it. thanks alot guys.

If you lost all the forward gears all at once except for 1st, then you most likely stripped the teeth off the governor. Remove governor, and have a new gear installed.
