another rear end

i have a 10 bolt out of a 94 formula. there is big hole that looks over the top of teh gear, it is open, there is no cap or bolt on it, wut is supposed to be there?
Also what weight gear oil should i put in the diff.

3/8 NPT plug, if it's the fill hole you're talking about. i use 75w-90 M1 gear oil

If it's on the VERY TOP in the center, it's where the ABS wheel speed sensor goes.

I have no idea, other than a sensor, what would fill up that hole.

how should i go about pluging it?it is right above the gear on the top of the dif. (of the rear end was on the car and you had the car jacked up the hole would b faceing the gas tank)

Get an old sensor out of a car at the junkyard; or figure out what threads it is and use a pipe plug, or if it's not threaded use a freeze plug, etc.

It's just a hole.... no pressure or heat or anything.... not rocket science.
