Transmission Center trannies???
Im not sure if this is appropriate in this section and if not please feel free to delete it. Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the Transmission Center's Raptor Series transmissions?
I bought the Stage 3 Raptor from a guy on here with 6,000 miles on it. I put roughly 500-1000 miles on it not abusing it or anything and Im pretty sure it broke the 2-4 KEVLAR band already. I have no 2nd or OD. Here is their website and a list of what this $1800 transmission has. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/highperf700r4.htm It's at the very top. Fluid was changed as soon as I got it and installed by a transmission shop. I cant figure out what went wrong except for the fact that either the seller lied to me about the miles and possible abuse he put into it or the transmission center makes terrible transmissions. They refused to fix it or pay for any costs with it stating that they cannot give a warranty to a second owner. I guess I can understand that but it's just unacceptable that an $1800 tranny would go in under 7,000 miles. I mean stock trannies last longer than that.
So in conclusion, buyer beware of this place but this is only my lone experience. Others may have had a good experience with them and that's ok. Just looking for opinions on their service and or transmissions. Once again, I hope this is ok here.

Yes as a matter of fact the tv cable was off 1/8". Dont know how big of a deal that is but I know these 700R4's are very picky with proper adjustment. I called the shop that installed it today and they refused to do anything about it saying that he doesnt know how I drive it and how can I blame them for that. Well the last tranny I had installed there in this same car also had the cable adjusted wrong. I had to use two hands to get the stupid shifter from park to reverse.
So I guess this is more bitching about the shop that installed it now.
I dont know who to blame on this one. Either way Im screwed out of a tranny for way too much money!

if you get another 700 i highly recommend the tvmadeezee from bowtie overdrives. takes about 1 min to adjust. they also make great transmissions.

As for the shifter being misudjusted, that is a different cable altogether, but it raises serious doubts as to the proffesionallism/capability of the shop in question.

Thank you for your posts guys. Yeah I think I may have to apologize to the transmission center because I was pretty pissed about this. The only problem now is that the company that installed it wont bite like Ive said already. We'll see what tomorrow brings though. I posted on the local car "tuners" forum around here that gets seen by alot of people and I got the attention of the installer and who knows maybe even word from his manager tomorrow.
But still, since things have been put on bad terms already I dont really know what if anything will ever get done seeing how stubborn the manager was when I first talked to him. Heh...all it's really doing is getting another person or two pissed off and not getting me some compensation for the tranny I had spent so much money on.

In defense of transmission center: I have the 700R4 Raptor. I paid 1750 for it and have NEVER had one single problem with it in the last two years. If I wanted another 700R4 in the future, I would buy it from them...

An 1/8" in adjustment is not critical, but will have some effect, mainly on the 2-3 shift at WOT. As for the 2-4 going away, if it happened all at once, the it most likely broke.
