Fly wheel won't bolt up
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I built a 383 that a 2 piece rear main seal. The 6-speed has a 1 piece rear main seal, so the diameter of the 400 crank is around 2inches where the flywheel sits, the 6-speed is about 1,3/4 inch. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what they did, the only thing that I can figure out is to buy a new bellhousing the changes it from a push system to a pull set up for the clutch, Now I just need to find someone that makes a bellhousing for the 6-speed that wil work on a 2 poece rear main seal. Any HELP?

The bell housing isn't what you need to change; it's the flywheel. The BH is fine.
Assuming you need an "unbalanced" flywheel for a short-rod motor: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=CTF%2D700173
Or if it's a neutral-balanced one, with longer rods than stock 400 ones: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=CTF%2D700107
{edit}Incidentally, the text description for the 700173 is wrong; you can look it up in CF's catalog on their own web site for the right one.

Thats helps alot, I was at the clutch shop and they said that the fly wheels are totally different, THe 6-sp is about 2 inches thicker, it is all internally balanced, so I don't have to worry about that, thanks for the summit site.
