Yes.

But only if the 3rd gen is a 6-cyl; since a 4th gen T-5 is going to be exclusively from a 6-cyl.

Yes it will fit to a V8 bell housing; but it won't fit the V8 clutch.

You'll hate it anyway. You know how a 700-R4 automatic makes the engine go from "scream" to "lug", when it shifts from 1st to 2nd? Now imagine that happening at EVERY shift. That's what a 6-cyl transmission is like. Basically, you'll never have the gear you want; one will always be too low, and the next will always be too high.

That's why you're asking all this, is because that transmission is worthless. Nobody wants that crap. People who've been there, know better. No professional will risk making a paying customer mad by doing that to his car. Therefore, it has very little value. That means you can buy it CHEEEEEP, as you've obviously already found out.

I strongly recommend against yielding to the temptation. You'll find that it's money down the drain. Whatever you spend on it, however little that ends up being, will be too much; because you'll hate it every minute you touch it.

Remember: in this hobby, you get NO MORE THAN what you pay for. Pay the least possible, you are instantly 100% iron-clad guaranteed of getting the least possible for your money.

The transmission gears work fine, will be fine, will work great, the only gear thats far off is first, its 4.0xx it makes for one hell of a launch with 3.42's, install one and dont beat it up too badly or expect it to live behind a 500 HP engine and you'll be just fine.
