what do you guys recommend for a posi? ive heard eaton is a really good brand, what do all of you think?

In other words it's the same as an SLP brand with all the bells and whistles but just a different name.

No, it's a factory piece that SLP removed from a fourth-gen when they upgraded it for a customer. Since there are no more fourth-gens being made, I wouldn't think that they're available anymore.

you can find them new still. i got one from a guy on here a few weeks ago. or you can browse some junkyard for a 4th gen and take it. or....ls1.com's parts for sale area has them sometimes.

no, the posi units from the fourth gens are known as zexel torsen.

will a posi unit out of a 4th gen diff go right in my rear end? or are the splines different?

looks like they went from 26 to 28 spline around '89. and the posi units should be the same besides the splines. Since you got an '88, I think you'd need to get axles from a 90-92, or aftermarket.
