Questions with a Turbo 400...
ok i have two quick questions that i need help with on my Turbo 400 tranny. the first is relatively simple i'm sure but i'm just wondering exactly how much tranny fluid they take, i want to fill it with that amount and then check to make sure my dipstick will work properly. the second question is on a comment made to me this weekend. well i just converted to a Turbo 400 and i haven't got to drive the car yet, hopefully tonight, but i had a Turbo 350 in the car before this. a friend of mine said that the Turbo 400 had lower gear ratio's than the Turbo 350? i already have a 3.73 rear-end so i don't really want my gearing to get any lower and i'm wondering if anyone can confirm this for me? thanks in advance!

What dipstick are you trying to use? Exact capacity is difficult to say because the starting point has to be established - passages completely empty, converter empty full or partial, etc.
The TH350 1st gear is 2.52:1, TH400 is 2.48:1. Not a very big difference. TH700R-4 is 3.06:1, and TH200-4R is 2.78:1.
