tko 600 advice

my problem is basically that i live in canada

www.canada-wide-parts.com can get me a tko 600 for 2250 canadian before taxes and i dont have to pay shipping because i can drive to go pick it up.

The problem being the tko 600 they sell is meant for a 2nd gen camaro. Their advice was to use a muncie t-10 90 degree bellhousing and a mechanical linkage. What problems am i going to run into if i decide that i want to go this route?

The easy solution is just to order the tranny from www.5speedtransmissions.com (they are the people who sell fortes transmissions) thats designed for my car but thats gonna cost me a bunch extra.

you can buy a lakewood scatter shield that has the angled and non angled mounting holes, and also has provisions for stock hydraulics

lakewood part number 15020

Fits Camaro-small block and 90° V6 (Chevrolet) applications with hydraulic clutch linkage bracket and is drilled for 17° canted T-5 and standard GM Muncie/Borg-Warner T-10 transmissions.

But i was under the impression that you still need the custom bracket that fortes makes to use that bellhousing. Someone fill me in.

And if i decide to order the tko600 from www.5speedtransmissions.com will the stock t-5 bellhousing and flywheel work with the forte's modified tranny? Because i can probably get those used and get the flywheel resurfaced for less then buying the parts new.

Why not ask the dealer, or Fortes? Or Tremec? Apparently not enough folks here have tried what you're doing.....

Stock flywheel will be fine. Get it resurfaced only IF you are installing a new clutch with it.

Yes. As long as you use the trans adapter plate that comes with it.
