t5 neutral safety wiring

Hey guys. Did a lot of reading but could not find specific info for my application. I went from a 700r4 in my '87 t/a to a t5. I found the connector under the dash with the big purple and yellow wire. They run directly to the auto shifter connector. The under dash connector can not plug into any of the connectors on the pedals. they are from an '86 v-8. How exactly do I wire this thing up to get the engine to crank.

I did plug in the connectors already on the brake pedal switch.

Thanks,
Chris

If you got the clutch safety switch connector with the pedals, you can attach two wires to it and run them to the big auto-shifter connector and hook it up to the purple and yellow wires (direction doesn't matter).
If you don't have the connector, you would need to get one in order to make this work. Or fabricate your own switch for the clutch pedal. Depends.

Hope this helps.

that helps. I picked up this setup from a buddy at a junkyard. I was given everything except for that safety switch. If that goes into the hole, just like the brake switch on the brake pedal, it's missing. I wonder if I can use my old brake switch???

Thanks,
Chris

There should be two switches on the clutch pedal. One on the top (for cruise control), one on the very bottom of the travel. That's the one we're talking about. It's a rectangular box with a little pad.

Just wanted to avoid any confusion.

I'm assuming that the rectangular box with the little pad is the slide switch that moves back and forth??? It has provisions for two small connectors....This is the safety switch I take it???

If so, what do I do with the purple and yellow wires by the pedals and the purple and yellow wires by the auto shifter connector????

Ok, I just noticed I've been answering in two thread to the same person. See my reply in the other thread. Let's close this one.
