racing question

im about to take my gta to the trakc to get its new base line and i was wondering if i should drag it in Drive or Overdrive?? is a rebuilt 700r4 behind a gasket matched 350 and 3.45 gears in da rear....when i last took it to the strip, i left it in overdrive and the fastest i went was 15.1 and that was with stock size intake, and valve seals leaking bad......i am hoping for mid 14's now but i am unsure...i wasnt sure if it would be a big diff. with drive and overdrive, just thought if i left it in drive it would just be dieing at end of the track for overdrive...i know its a noob question, but i have been hearing things from leave it in drive, shift it manually, or leave it in overdrive...

any helop would be nice

There shouldn't be any difference. You don't want to get into OD anyway. It's a weak small gear. If you do get into OD in the 1/4 mile, gearing, shift rpm or tire size is all wrong. You should cross the finish line in high gear (1:1) at or just before your shift point.

Since the transmission is shifting on it's own, you're not going to see any change in ET if it's in D or OD.
