4th gen rear end into 3gen?

I just got a 87 firebird with a 5 speed and I want to take my rear end out of my 1995 3.4l v6 (posi and 4:10 gears) and put it in the 87 and take the 87 rear and put it in the 95(They are both drum brakes ) is this possible?

Before you ask questions, search for the answers as they're usually there 40 times over.

They swap but the 4thgen rear is 2" wider on each side so you'll need to get spacers/different wheels.

You won't need spacers for the rears. Your stock wheels will work but they will stick out 2" wider per side as mentioned above. This can be remidied by using a set of 4th gen or vette wheels. You would then need spacers for the front.
