Transmission: T56, 5-speed, 700R4, C4, T176, semi-auto 2-speed

Yeah, the 8.8 is a decent rear. They tend to eat up bearings and the gearset on high milage units though. If you buy one used plan for a complete rebuild. The stock Ford limited slip leaves a bit to be desired too. I'd go with an Auburn or an Eaton instead. Also, upgrade the axels to 30 spline (28s are stock) if you plan to run the car hard. Definately replace the axel bearings too. If you want to get away from the c-clips get a set of weld on housing ends that use 9" bearings and retainers. C-clip eliminators are a band aide fix. They will leak when used on the street, and the bearings are smaller than the stock ones.
