4th Gen Rear and 3rd Gen Rims....

I have a question. Everyone says that when you install a 4th gen rear your stock rims will stick out 2"; personally i think 16" 4th gen rims look like *** and i won't put them on my car, so i was thinking, that you could perhaps alter the offset of the rear wheels? there is alot of material to shave down, and i am sure it could be done professionally by those wheel widening shops. thats just what i am thinking, anyone tried this?

It would be cheaper to buy new wheels with the proper backspacing.

My next replacement rear for both my 3rd Gens will be 4th Gens -- awesome 12-inch rear PBR brakes and I like the wider track of the 3rd Gen wheels extended to the fender line. Here's a photo.

i dont have a pic but the outer edge of my tires are basically dead even with the little lip on the fender. mine looks like it is a few fractions of an inch in tighter than the one in the pic posted.
